The title When the Stars Begin to Fall comes from an American slave-song which uses imagery from the Apocalypse to describe Last Days as the day of Emancipation. Begun in mid-March 2020, the collage was inspired by the lock down and quarantine in the months after Covid-19 first came to the U.S. We longed for spring and freedom. The falling white stars could be virus--or snow, or cherry blossoms.
