Acrylic and mixed media on paper

30" x 22"

Fluvanna began as a monoprint of the scarlet meandering lines that reminded me of the creeks and rivers I enjoyed in my youth, particularly of the many happy times I had with my friend Julia at her family farmhouse overlooking the James in the many-rivered Fluvanna County. Like Fingertips, Fluvanna is a rhythm-and-color painting. As Duke Ellington says, if the rhythm is right, the piece will turn out well, but "it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing."

Fluvanna is available unframed.
